This song was popularized by The Turtles in 1967. My high school classmates were used to sing this in our vacant period. I joined with them. I am already in my senior citizen age, this song still holds so dearly to me. This song was one of our contest songs we sang in our cultural contest. I was one of the members in our 6-member band.

My high school sweetheart used to sing this too.

I love this song I dedicated to my daughter. Today's music does not touch me emotionally like the music from before. Thank you for posting this it reminded me that good music still exists, you just brought a smile on my face.

This song is used by Coca Cola on TV commercial. It also became the themesong of different movies. It is part of the sountrack of the children's movie "Minions" and it is also the themesong of a Lesbian romantic comedy titled "Imagine me and you"

the song has got two different moods, one is melancholic (in minor chords) and the other very happy and almost exstatic with the chorus that uses major chords on mixolydian structure.
