With over 74 million websites using WordPress as their content management system, it is obviously the prominent CMS for everything from individual blogs to corporate websites.
However, it is still fairly common to hear negative comments about WordPress. On everything from security issues to pageload times, WP still gets a lot of criticism.
My question for those critics is, "What should we use in place of WP?"

HTML5 isn't a forum platform it is the predecessor to the markup language HTML which ended in its 4.x stages.

I would highly suggest sticking with a stable version of wordpress ( one without any known vluns). This will enable you to easily developed your blog, but with a good starting base!

It depends on what you aim to do. If you are more focused on the content. Try MEDIUM. It's not a CMS but hosted on their servers only. They provide a platform for bloggers to showcase their content.
Else you can try to play around Drupal or Joomla, both of which are widely known CMS. Go with the well known CMSs because it would be easier to find and get support for any problem you get into.

If you want to do simple page and content management then go for concrete5 if you have a lot of technical skills.
If you want to have a blog CMS then go for Joomla or Ghost since both are good WordPress alternatives.
