Power reveals Character

You might have heard something similar to this quote here, "Give a man power and he will reveal his true character."
IMO this is very much true.

Man desires power first of all to fulfill his other desires. Now with enough power his desires will begin to show his true character.

A Man with little power doesn't reveal much character in a sense, because he still desires power.

Typically that's how most men can be. However, some men like myself, don't let power reflect their character. I am the way I am, and I'd be no different if you gave me tons of money or power.

If you do the same as you do now after being giving a lot of power your character would be bolder. By not having any change when giving power it shows your desires more strongly.

You don't know that, as you don't have power. Look what happened to the Romans; the greatest empire ever spoiled by a bunch of rich brats.

They had vomitoriums. Rooms dedicated to the purpose of vomiting inbetween meals so they could eat more. What happens when good people are able to do whatever they want.

I agree to this. Full power allows you to do anything showing what kind of person you really are. Evil or good. Its for the human being only to decide. May they have mercy on themselves.

I like how everyone claims it makes them evil or changes them, and saying it involves money, etc.

I think the quote “Give a man power and you will reveal his true character" means that if you give a man the right to speak out and stand up for his rights you will see the power in him. I think it means that when a man is given the freedom he needs, he has this person inside of him that’s ready to stand up and show it off to everybody. If they have no power inside to do what they want to do, then maybe their hiding something that they have… a personality ready to burst out from behind the curtain.
