We all at some point in time have experienced negative thoughts. Those dark and gloomy moments that threaten to pull us towards depression. How have you managed to beat them?

We all "talk to ourselves" even if it isn't out loud. Those little messages that run through our minds all day. We have to learn to control those. When you catch yourself thinking negatively, turn it around.

If you tend to wake up thinking that it's going to be a bad day, it probably will be. Change that habit and tell yourself that it's going to be a good day. That won't magically make everything perfect, but it can help you start looking for the good things. We have to spend more time counting our blessings instead of our problems.

Yes. That's taking a step towards positive thinking. It does help if you try and look for positives even in the most negative looking scenario.

Well, I don't know if I'd go so far as to say that everything happens for the best. I do believe, however, that everything happens for a reason. There are also many difficult experiences that can make us stronger. It ends up being something good in the long run, even though it may have started out as something bad. I guess that's the kind of thing you mean.
