Yes' Music Corner
/-/-/

Welcome to my music corner. This is basically just a place where I will add daily songs or albums, mix tapes, remixes, etc. You can discuss with me, tell me if you like them, recommend me some music and we can all have a good time! If you recommend a song that I jam, and I put it in the thread, I will give you a shout out. I do like a lot of genres, but I will post whatever I'm genuinely interested in at the time. I will edit the thread every day with new music that I am enjoying. I will also write a few lines about why I like it, and maybe some facts about the artist. I will also provide links to all the stuff so you can check them out!

These songs probably won't be the newest things.

I'm not saying that I am the most musically tuned or that I know the most about good music, but I know what I like to listen to. This thread will be just that.

Team - Lorde
Monday, February 27 2014 - Day 4!

I really don't know a whole lot about Lorde. This tune has been in my head for the last day or so, so I thought I would share it with you! I really like it, and I like Lorde for stepping out of the box to do something a little different. This track proves she is defiantly not a one hit wonder.

Love it or hate it, please tell me what you think of this song! I would love debate/discussion on this thread!

Chance is from Chicago, Illinois . Chance the rapper is awesome. His Mixtape 10 Day was pretty good, but Acid Rap is phenomenal. For me, the production, theme, and originality for this tape is spot on. Production stands out for sure. This mixtape has some of the best beats and hooks I've heard in a while. This is the first time that I've put a whole album/mixtape on here, but I really think that this whole thing has something awesome and special to it. Chance is a young rapper who is doing things differently. If you listened to the tape above, you probably can see that he screams and makes weird noises, but that's what sets him apart. He has gotten really quite big in the last 2 months only with the release of Confident by Justin Bieber Ft. Chance. My favourite track of his would have to be Paranoia, or Chain Smoker. This tape Acid Rap debuted at 63 on the Billboard Top Hip-Hop/R&B even though Chance gave this album out for free! Yes, he doesn't even charge for his music because he wants everyone to be able listen. For him, it is more about expressing himself through art, rather than the money.

If you like this mixtape, then you should defiantly check out his other work. It is amazing.

Love it or hate it, please tell me what you think of this song! I would love debate/discussion on this thread!

Recovery - James Arthur

James Arthur is a great musician, he is on the come up in the UK, and I think he will take over North America soon. He is an artist. He challenges the form and does his own thing. His music is true to him, and he doesn't let anyone change the way he does things. Just a little back story; James grew up in Middlesbrough and had a lucky break when he auditioned for the X Factor UK. I saw it and liked his stuff. He has a lot of old tracks that are gold such as "GBP" and "Falling Star" which are defiantly worth a listen if you've got a minute. He is a pop/rock singer, but much like everyone else in Europe, he doesn't do it the same. He is so original it is unbelievable, this shit is supposed to be underground! :p I think the video is amazing, it is so well done, and really adds a lot for this track. When the video got popular, I saw comments saying "I like the song better without the video". This is also true with the comments for You're Nobody 'Til Somebody Loves You but I couldn't disagree more. These music videos are so good it is hard to articulate the words for it. Maybe it's because I saw the boy grow so I have a special place for him. Tell me what you think!

If you like this track, then you should defiantly check out his other work. It is amazing.

Love it or hate it, please tell me what you think of this song! I would love debate/discussion on this thread!

Break From Toronto - PARTYNEXTDOOR

So PARTYNEXTDOOR (Yes all capitals) was signed to Drakes label "OVO Sound" a while ago. He's 20 years old from Canada and released his first mixtape in July last year. He has done a lot of stuff with Drake, like sing background on Drake's album "Nothing Was the Same". He also has a song with Drake on his mixtape called "Over Here" which is not too bad. This song caught my attention a little while ago with it's incredible production and shout out's to my home city! He released it under OVO Sound, so obviously had a good production crew, which really makes the song for me. The vocals float over the track, with a nice tone in his voice. On the verse, his flow is so clean and creative. "Roll up in this bitch, still smell like an ounce..." is just so smooth, like holy shit. The video is just a sweet-sweet treat for this incredible track. First listen through, it sounded like this kid uses too much effects on his voice and his shit is over produced, but as I got familiar with the track, I viewed it as much more of an artistic decision.

Love it or hate it, please tell me what you think of this song! I would love debate/discussion on this thread!
