In the olden days, courses for students are fully defined. Teachers study education and doctors study medicine. But now you can find teachers who are call center agents and nursing graduates as sales clerks. The shifting of demand is unpredictable so students are advised to be on the safe side.

I have a niece who had wanted to be an IT specialist but her parents pushed her to a nursing degree because her father is a physician and her mother is a nurse. When she graduated, she couldn't get a job and they said that it would have been better if she had taken veterinary medicine. She worked as a call center agent for a time and later in a networking. She is lucky to be hired by a drug laboratory as medical representative. She started work last month.

In the early time, in our society, children used to study the course chosen by their parents. For example, one would choose engineering or medicine just because his/her father/mother want his/her children to become a doctor or engineer. However, in the recent times, students are choosing course according to their interest and level of intelligence.

That's messy @Alexandoy, I mean I would never want to push someone into making a decision just based on my preferences. This is the usual outcome. There should be free choice to go for things one is interested in that way they can become better and happer doing their jobs and not feel trapped with regrets to live with.

My parents done exactly the same thing, first with my high school when I had no chance to fight their decision, and then later they tried eh same thing with my University when I took their suggestion and chose a department that was offering scholarships. But they retrieve the scholarships so I split up with that idea and next year switched to a thing I liked myself.
