Many people say that Charles Manson should be considered a serial killer, because he is responsible for the deaths of so many people. But what people don't know or refuse to acknowledge, is that Manson never committed the murders himself. He always had someone else do it. He was the leader, so to speak.
Watching his interviews, and reading things he's said and done, just astonishes me. (I'm a sucker for a good serial killer's brain)
I remember watching a really low quality interview where he said that he didn't want to get out of prison. He KNOWS he isn't safe. Whether it's from himself, or other people, was unclear. Manson KNOWS what he's done, he's aware of it. He acknowledges it.
And of course, he has that crazy look in his eye that psycho-lovers like me fangirl over.

Then there's John Wayne Gacy. I've always been afraid of clowns, but when I first saw the movie made about his life, it just got worse from there. Now, don't get me wrong, he's still considered a serial killer, and I would still love to pick apart his mind, BUT. I can't look at that face paint. I recall Gacy saying this about killing: "[After the first one murder] I did it because it feels good."

There are many different "forms" of serial killers in this world, and each mindset could be completely different.
Or, they could be so alarmingly similar, we never even realize it.

(I love this kind of stuff, so I felt the need to start a thread)

Charles was amazing at what he did, such as Hitler also was.
A serial killer I personally liked was Richard Kuklinski, but he was in the mafia so it makes sense.

Please give credit to the originating source, I myself am a serious serial killer fanatic. I have many many books on serial killers, the alphabet of serial killers, Manson was not a serial killer. He was a cult leader, he never killed one person and he was even quoted saying if you let me out I will kill again.

John Wayne Gacy I have to appreciate the mind of a serial killer this particular gentleman I do believe was too brazen for his own good. Raping boys in the garage outback burying then in the crawlspace beneath the house. I do admire there clown helping the children in the day and the deviant murder at night.

Definitely makes sense. I've only read a little on Richard Kuklinski, but I did know he was in the mafia. I'm probably going to read up on him shortly because I'm super curious. (:
(Thank you for your feedback! I like hearing what others have to say)

That's the point I was trying to make about Manson. People just want to automatically categorize him as a serial killer, when is not a serial killer. As for the originating source, I'm not entirely sure where I can find that. It was an interview I had watched in my psychology class last semester.

That is a very interesting interest you have (lol).

What's your opinion on Jeffrey Dahmer? Tell me what you think about him, and what about him might interest you. He's the only serial killer I have read up on, so yeah.

I do not appreciate, nor value him as a serial killer he was weak. He was a coward, he had to be fucked up to kill, he kept his activities confined to his apartment,I lived in the same apartment building in the oxford apartments in Milwaukee Wisconsin, dahmer lived in 213 I lived in 401. You could smell the putrid meat, heart skill saws, he was sloppy. I was 7 years old when I walked by his apartment every day to go to the east stair well. Luckily I was too young for his taste, he was technically a serial killer yes but a terrible one and sloppy.

Holy shit man, really? That would have been great thing to post right off the bat for this thread xD. That's insane. Did you ever see him/come close? And what year was it exactly?

That is not a thread introduction I chose to present, I lived in oxford from 1984 - 1991, dahmer was found out in 1991 then the building was demolished, as the blue 50 gallon drums he had in his apartment. The tan gloss oil base paint that chipped off the wall, he would leave his apartment and turn a 180 then lock his door. When I walked by I could smell soilex which is what he used to boil clean the bodies. I saw him every day, he was drunk often, he smelled of boos and all the time. It sounds like a lie so I rarely tell it but I will never forget that smell.

Jeffery Dahmer honestly is one of the most known serial killers, but like Psych0s said, he was indeed sloppy. I mean, he had to be under the influence of something in order to do it, he didn't conceal ANYTHING very well. He had a total of 17 victims in a 13 year time-span. He would go from just murdering his victims, to raping them, dismembering them, eating them, and even having sex with them. (Necrophelia). He went from one extreme to another. In Ohio, he committed his final murder which in turn he was sentenced a 16th life sentence.
In my opinion, he was afraid, because he did everything in his apartment; come on, really?
I mean, he isn't my favorite, but of course, I know about him and what he'd done.
I'm just not a huge fan.
