Do you prefer Intel or AMD processors?

I like my Intel processors personally as they keep getting better and better the other reason being is that I have never been a fan of AMD anyway :P

I've only had Intel, but AMD procs look like you could get more bang for your buck. Any reason why you like Intel more?

I'd prefer Intel performance wise, but AMD is just so much cheaper. Look at these two:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6819115070
Similar, but not identical. The Intel is slightly better, but you could get two AMD cores for the price of the Intel one. Granted, AMD cores aren't optimized for the stronger (and possibly cheaper) NVidia graphics cards, but I prefer AMD nontheless.

Those two are completely different. Apples and oranges.
Plus, the difference in performance is massive.
About AMD's recent approach; more cores != more performance. They're still the crappy K10.5 arch that barely competes with the Core 2 series from Intel. Pretty sad, really. Bulldozer better be good.
Also, "AMD cores aren't optimized for the stronger (and possibly cheaper) Nvidia graphics cards" statement is completely false. They're both equally optimized, it's just the Intel is simply more powerful.

Oh, my mistake then. I don't know where I got that from, sorry.

I prefer Intel, but currently I run a 2.80GHZ AMD Athlon and it's pretty fast. :)

I'm an Intel kind of guy, nothin but. Grew up with it and damn well gonna use it for the rest of my life. Only way they're getting me to use an AMD one is if they force their graphics cards to use em which I doubt.
