I think that things will actually get a bit worse before getting any better. I think that the populace is more to blame for having no checks or balances on the police. It doesn't benefit the government be it the state or federal govt to oversee, because at the end of the day the police are the first line of defense against the citizens.

How long ago did Michael Brown happen? Nothing changed they think it's a technology issue a training issue, well it's been 5 maybe 6 years since that crap and what really changed? Not a frapping thing, the cops still investigate their own and they still get all the shiny batbelt loving crap they want be it APC or guns whatever. The government no matter who the president is will not want to see their first line of defense be eroded either.

I watched that video, it was nothing short of a snuff film and I have seen people even friends die several times and that video bothered me.

Here's my take on this whole situation;

What happened to George was uncalled for and very wrong, I heard actually that Chauvin received a 2nd degree murder charge actually which definitely is what he needed.  I'm also pretty sure that the other 3 cops were arrested as well.

Do I agree with what's going on?  Partially, if the world wasn't looting and actually peacefully protesting about his death, then we wouldn't have an issue.  But the big issue is that people are taking advantage of the situation, that's why there's looting going on, and burning and destruction of buildings.

Yeah, all the looting shit is crazy. That's the worst thing to try to rally people on your side. But you'll never know who is behind most of the looting/destruction. It's well known in France that the police with undercover agents and opposite groups of any protest will do that so the world see the protest as a threat
