Our youngest daughter discovered that one of the locked drawers of her three-division plastic cabinet was broken. She asked her three nieces and one nephew if they did it or anyone of them had accidentally destroyed it. Everybody became deaf. Nobody answered.

I interrupted and relayed that one day I noticed Bryan, the oldest among our 4 grandchildren was practicing Karate inside the room where the cabinet was located. So I guessed that he accidentally hit the drawer by his karate kick. I insisted that Bryan was the culprit.

Our daughter right away confronted Bryan and let him admit the misdeed with a condition that he wouldn't be scolded or be held accountable. With a teary eyes, Bryan admitted the guilt.

"Why did you lie?" our daughter concluded her interrogation.

There are people who like Bryan. They are afraid or apprehensive to tell the truth. Are you that kind of person too?
