Let's debate about - moderators

One member mentioned that maybe a forum needs a moderator.
It is a good idea but maybe it is way to early to think of it.

List what kind of a moderator model do you find acceptable, or the one you want to have in here.
Also, vote if you are interested into that position yourself.

My personal opinion is maybe known to a few. I am not sure, but here are my ideas that seem logical to me.

Moderator/s should not leverage any reward model like members but be hired separately to avoid conflict of the interest.
Moderator should not be able to participate in the debates him/herself but to operate without obstructing the discussions.
Moderator should not be able to delete or manipulate the content ( spiting, cutting, editing or in any way changing discussions) or member accounts, but only de-publish content and momentary suspend spam accounts.
Moderator should have a separate way how to contact the members in failure; my best suggestion is an on-page notification system. 
Members should be able to complain if they find a moderator's actions not justified.
