I agree on everything you said, but there should be a very clear limit what moderator can do and in my opinion the best possible option for community-staff relation is if only an administrator keeps the right to address his 'little community' and moderators should work behind the scenes protecting the community.

What you say does make sense but I think we can only see how things go after the mod starts working. We should also have a say incase we aren't happy with his way of conduct.

I think that for now an administrator can manage it because I don't see people doing too many posts. It depends on the forum traffic if a moderator is even needed.
One spammer, the one that posts the same nuisance over again, is not a motive for the moderator.
Still, it is good to know some things.
