Quote:Here's serial algo for a 15" Retina Feb 2013 edition: C02K***QFFT1 or C02K**4QFFT1 (these serials may not work for registration anymore as its from first week production line, you may need newer/recent serials). Replace * with numbers or letters until you get an unregistered serial.

You will need to make an Apple ID account. Put your information that you are going to use for the SE (name, drop, etc)..

Now register that unregistered serial to your Apple account. As for the purchase date I usually put it between 10-30 days of the day I'm calling in...

Register And enter serial link here <----- enter serial at the link, register through there.

Now once you got everything read, call Apple on their suppose line and get to the Macbook support line.

Once you are speaking with an agent you can do one or two things here be the two things you can do.

Option 1: Tell them your Macbook doesn't work and go through troubleshooting. Once he tells you that you may need it repair tell em if he can look into (ask a senior adviser) if there's any way you could receive a replacement instead of repair... he will check and if the senior adviser he talks to looks into you will be offered a 'capture program' option.

Options 2: Only difference here is how you speak/explain the situation. When an gent doing goofs and answers let them know that you were just on the phone a few minutes ago with an tech rep... you went through the whole troubleshoot and eventually he told you it would need to be repaired... but then you asked if there's any way of receive a replacement instead the rep said he'll check with a senior adviser and then get back to you, but say the tech rep came back from and told you your laptop may qualify for a program Apple is doing and you might be able to get a replacement but he will check with the senior adviser so he then put you back on hold, but then while on hold the call drop... so now you're just calling back to try and speak to a senior adviser about this option the last rep explained...

Then at the end of option 1 or 2 (option 2 works better) you will get the following options: The 'capture program' option means you will either 1, provide cvv for express replacement (they hold full amount), or 2, receive shipping labels and you'll ship your broken one to Apple and once the laptop is scanned at Fedex as 'in route' Apple will send you your replacement (cross shipping).

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The only option, unless you plan to card, is going with cross shipping. Once you get your labels just put them on an empty box, ship box, call Apple, let them know you shipped it (just as a back up), and you are done... Expect a replacement within two days..

I suggest only shipping on Mon-Tues because shipping on Wed-Sat would mean they would receive your box by Thursday/Fri, know your box is empty and will cancel your replacement that is on route as it's most likely won't be delivery till Monday...

As for the issue with the laptop tell them you're getting no screen (screen is blank), but the computer powers on (you see the keyboards backlights, hear it chime, etc)...

If you go with 'option 2' tell them the previous adviser had you try holding the 'Shit', 'Control', 'Option' (on the left side) and the power button (if he ask if the light on the charger blinked, say it did twice in green), and then you also tried 'Option', 'Command', 'P', 'R' and the power (say you heard the computer chime twice but the screen still didn't turn on...

Some reps will not help you out at all... They will tell you to go back to store and that's the only options, some will say you have to call within 14/30 days some will say you have to call in after 30 days... Just hang up and try a new rep...

Shark
