Was Apple security ‘flaw’ actually a NSA backdoor?

This is from a website that brings you excellent stories such as "Are the Female Characters in True Detective Supposed to be Invisible," "Ted Nugent: Obama using health reform and IRS to start a race war, just like the Nazis," and "Michigan man shoots himself dead demonstrating gun safety." (Oh gods he shot himself dead! XD) It seems kind of muckraker-y. And the website they used as a source is kind of a tabloid-ish place. I also can't find a link to apple actually denying or addressing this claim; maybe I'm not looking hard enough.

If this is real, that's insane, they need to be stopped. Nobody has any right to view someone's communications; it's immoral. I wouldn't let Jesus read my texts. The logic people sometimes use is that if you have nothing to hide, it doesn't matter, but it does. My business is my own, nobody else's.
