PC is the best platform for any game, regardless of genre/type of game.
PC being better than console is one of the few opinions that I believe in, that I actually have enough support and evidence to call it a fact. There is not even close to enough reasons to play on console.
Reasons why the supposed "reasons" for playing consoles are wrong:
I prefer to use a controller: Plug in a gaming controller to your PC, they have adapters. Most PC games support the use of "gamepads" also known as controllers, so much so that the controls on-screen will actually change to the buttons of the controller. For instance, instead of saying "Hit R to reload" it will say "Hit X to reload"
I like to sit back in my couch, far from the screen: Plug in your PC to your television, open up the game, and use a wireless adapter so you can plug in the gaming controller of your choice.
The screen isn't not big enough: Back to our recent statement, you can plug your computer into any size of television that you like. It does not have to be called a "Computer Monitor" for you to use it as such. Many people use 30" or bigger TV's as their PC monitors.
Gaming PC's are too expensive: While this might be true, nobody is asking you to buy the biggest and baddest gaming PC in existence. A mid-ranged gaming PC for about the same price as an Xbox One can perform just as good, or most likely better, than an Xbox One.
Exclusives: While this might sorta be a reason, a few decent games here and there is not a reason to stick onto the losing part of the gaming platforms. You can simply play the exclusive on your console when you want, and for the rest of your games, play on PC. Besides, most games aren't exclusive. Most are universal, meaning they are released on PC/X360/PS3. Or, if it's a new game, PC/X1/PS4.
I like to play with my friends: You can play online with your friends just the same on PC, and plus, you can use programs like Skype or Teamspeak to get better quality voice chatting. Oh? Split-screen you say? Well, while that may be a good point, you can have just as much fun taking turns between using a computer. I have friends that play consoles, and when they come over, we all play Battlefield and take turns on my gaming PC, and have lots of fun doing it. Unless your friends are impatient dicks, taking turns on a PC is just fine. You or your friends can comment on the person playing's gameplay, crack jokes, and still have an awesome time with your friends in the same room.
What about mobility?! I can't lug around a massive piece of metal: Well, while laptops aren't exactly the best for PC gaming, they are sure as hell better than console gaming. If you are a mobile gamer, then consider buying a gaming laptop. They have all the power of a beastly huge desktop, shrank down into a small laptop. If you want, you could also bring along a mouse and keyboard. In fact, I believe a mouse, a keyboard, and a gaming laptop would be lighter than a clunky Xbox.
Reasons why PC is better than consoles:
Keyboard and Mouse > Controllers: Nope, this isn't an opinion either. Once you get used to the keyboard and mouse, it is overall a more natural feeling and comfortable way to play and enjoy your games. This is especially true when it comes to FPS games. Using a mouse allows you to react faster, and go from one target to the other MUCH quicker than on joystick-based gaming controllers.
Graphics: The one most known and undeniable benefit of PC gaming. The graphics on PC are fucking phenomenal, and even with next-gen consoles coming closer to comparing, PC graphics still put any console to shame.
Performance: This might be still considered graphics to a mere noob to PC gamer logic, but it's different. Not only are the graphics better on PC, but the performance is too. By this, I mean frames per second. Consoles are capped at about 30 frames per second, and are made to look smoother with things like vsync and other silly tricks. On PC, games are naturally smooth. With better hardware and no limits, games can run at 60+ FPS, resulting in an awesome looking fluency that consoles just cannot give.
Better and overall Smarter Community: Well, let's face it. Due to the popularity and ease-of-use of console gaming, there is some pretty stupid people playing consoles now-a-days. From the ones who yell vague and unoriginal insults on the microphones when they lose, to annoying 12 year olds, the community of consoles (especially Xbox Live) is plain awful. On PC, while there still is idiots, there happens to be a LOT less. I've played on both communities for years, and I can tell you my experienced opinion from playing several years of playing all platforms, that the PC community is far more intelligent overall, and just way better than Playstation Network or Xbox Live.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this thread. I put a lot of thought into it, and yeah. If you have any reasons why console gaming, is for whatever silly reason, better than PC gaming, then go for it. I will gladly disprove it and add it to the list of "Reasons why the supposed "reasons" for playing consoles are wrong:"
