I believe that if Hitler had keept looking at the big picture instead of telling the generals how to fight there battles Germany could have been far more successful. He also Destroyed some of the Germans greatest inventions completely.

For example take the Germans jet fighters. They had some exceptional technology for there time and they could have produced them a good deal earlier and better if Hitler hadn't told them to instead focusing on making V2 and V1 rockets. And when the ME-262 was about to be finished Hitler for some reason told them to add bombs to it.

If properly produced without any of Hitlers interaction the ME-262 could have turned around the war singlehandedly. But Hitler scrapped that.

Something happened with Hitler at the turning point of the war. I think he snapped for some reason and started making lots of bad decisions.

Anyway to stay a little OT.

My favorite one is Erwin Rommel. He was a brilliant commander that earned both the respect of his men and enemies. He ignored orders to kill Jews and prisoners of war on multiple occasions. At the end of the war he was linked to a conspiracy against Hitler and forced to take a cyanide pill to insure his families safety.

Several Nazi Generals I find miles ahead of the intelligence level Hitler was at. Heisenberg and -shit forgot the name- guy who saved all the art of the louvre from being burned. They had some real gems on their side. Well thought out reply, and I agree entirely. :)

I wouldn't say Hitler was a stupid man i just think he snapped and started making bad decisions. Hermann Göring was also a real nut. He basically doomed the men stuck in Stalingrad by promising Hitler that his airforce would be able to deliver supplies to the army stuck in Stalingrad. I don't remember the exact number but they succeeded in delivering around 10% of what the army needed to survive.
