If you are going to ask for money either do it within context of do it discretely. For example.
Bob makes a program that he releases for free. He adds that you can also donate to support his software at the bottom of his thread.
That to me is a okay way of doing it.
Having your btc address or PayPal email in your sig is less okay to me but just to compromise you could just add them like this
