Honestly, I have been feeling like this for so long. People only putting a label on themselves to make themselves feel better. Loving God and trusting in Him should be what you WANT to do, not what you feel FORCED to do.

The heart of what the ministry is
Stop the world from brainwashing generations
Upon generations.
Every time i turn the TV on all I see is me.
What can I get what can i WANT what can I have
the newest laptop? The newest ipad?
~I also feel that the church (and parishioners, as well) is attempting to brainwash people. Maybe not on purpose, but it is as if we (meaning "people in general") are telling people what they want to hear. OR, trying to scare them into believing, and that shouldn't happen. I'm pretty sure Jesus wouldn't want things like that.
Quote:Like lukewarm, marriage is torn and men addicted to porn.
Where is the righteous to guide us?
Do we have to much pride that Christ denies us
I’m tired of good deeds and us trying to please
if all it does is lead Christ back up to the cross to bleed.
^^^^ Cried at the last line.
~I don't feel that we have too much pride that Christ denies us, but I do believe that people are waaaaaaay too prideful and vein. Which breaks my heart.
Quote:Where are the warriors at, where are the disciples?
Where are the ones i read about in the bible?
If god gave us the Holy Spirit
Why do we try to run away and not hear it

This is my favorite part of the entire poem. These four lines are something I always meditate on, whether it's praying about it, writing about it, etc. Especially "Where are the warriors at, where are the disciples?" Jesus wants US to be the new disciples, and I just wish people would listen to Him. We do need to stop and listen, not run from it. [/quote]

Awesome reply Bonnie, all your points are valid and they are good :)
I especially like your last point, Jesus does want us as the new disciples and followers - its just the church isn't doing a great job at equipping others to become a disciple essentially. Even in that matter like I said Church is pushing people away which leads people to run away and not listen to what god has given to us :)
