I know some of programming, but it's rusty these days. In that case, I would always use ready-made themes, plug-ins for all my web development work. Also, I would use these things - cause it simply isn't worth the trouble to code it anyway!
However, though, it's pretty cool to be able to code your own stuff. In fact, it could make you a lot of cash - if you can do things better than others, or do something nobody is doing. However, everything takes marketing, though. In the end, it's all a marketing game.
