I never let anything addict me unless water counts. I like to have control over my habits.

I was a heavy smoker for more than 30 years when I suddenly quit on June 29, 2007. No one would believe when they learned about my quitting. Much more, I still had my lighter and a pack of cigarette in my pocket for 1 month before I finally declared that I am nicotine-free. What happened was the sudden chest pains that I felt. It scared me with the thought that I would die of heart attack. I talked to God and promised to quit if He would make me live longer. That simple.

I tried to get rid of my gaming addiction a few years back and it worked out quite well. Although, I still spend some of my free time playing games nowadays, it is not as extreme as back in my teenage years .Back when I was really addicted, I can engage in gaming for the whole day without any breaks in between games and I do not really care about other things in life.. Now, at least it is better., though I still play games, but less frequently.

Yes. Although it was more of an habit than an addiction. But I did not find it hard to let go of it. I was in the 10th standard at that time and had just given my board papers. I got rid of the habit and have never repeated it since.
