I've seen a lot of people with their Paypal address in their signature, which is quite annoying. You should be able to put a BTC address or a Paypal address but not directly ask for people to donate.

This. Exactly, you're right - Me requesting a gift was a one off. Mal should implement some more rules.

I completely agree with this, if 1 out of every 5 members of the site is begging for something it makes the whole site look bad.

Or add a field in user profiles allowing them to add their PayPal links or what not. Also some may find it aesthetically pleasing to simply hide users signatures from view.

This can be achieved by going to your user cp and editing >>>Options<<< then navigate to the right side and look for "Display users signature in their post" make sure to remove the check and apply settings.

Just for the sake of your own security, once people know your PayPal-Email they can, for example, send funds from a stolen account to your account,
which not only endangers your PayPal-Account but also your security in general, I don't know anyone who would do that, but there's always a risk!

This is a really good point! If people even put it in their signature, then they should ask for people to PM for donations.

We're going to handle this and our decision will be posted soon. This situation has gotten out of hand and we will make a rule on this situation.

Great! Glad my suggestion will be taken into consideration.
