Best advice I could give is find a good mentor if you are just starting out. Also try to read as much financial info as possible before making an informed decision. Also start with demo accounts until you feel confident enough to trade live

Shorting is a big nono. I suggest studying the patterns of what the market does since it's very volatile right now.
