To be frank I spend very little time on praying.  I believe God want us to focus more on action than on praying.  I think if we can do something to change a person’s life in a positive way that would be very much better than mere praying. We need to give back to society more than what we receive from here.  It is rightly said that God helps those who help themselves.

What's your take on this, how long do you spend on praying?

For me, prayer is a self-submission that happens every moment in my life. There is no specific time devoted for prayer. It is a silent communication that happens in the subconscious level. Self communicates with the Self. The one who prays and who listens are one and the same. There is no third person. It cannot be taught; but should come from the heart.

I spend a little time, a few minutes praying on a daily basis. You rightly said that God helps only those who help themselves, but praying does not always necessarily mean asking things from God. A prayer can be a note of thanks for all the blessings we have received, for good health, for having a family etc. A prayer can be a reflection of our deeds and thoughts, a look within ourselves. A prayer can be a request for strength to get through our tasks. A few minutes to do that is enough for me.

It depends. I think I'm a good-hearted person so I believe that God likes what I do everyday; to me praying is important, even if it's not a daily habit; I've been through difficult times that made me question about spirituality, I've changed point of view about religion, from being a Catholic to embrace the Eastern Philosophies like Buddhism and Taoism, ending up thinking that God must be everywhere and religion is an human interpretation of Divinity. I love praying because it's an act of humility, it reminds us that we aren't perfect, and we always need spiritual guides.

I don't pray, I worship. There is a difference between praying and worshiping. Worshiping is related to performing rituals. I don't give much time on worshiping, but I make sure to worship every day

Exactly, that is what is going on through my mind too.  Sometimes I also find myself questioning spirituality.  The recent news that a group of terrorists stormed into a school in Pakistan and killed hundreds innocent kids there shook my faith in these things.  I even think that God has no control on what is happening here, but it is actually we, the humans, are the real cause of such gruesome acts.

But who knows there may be something beyond our thinking levels, but I would not believe that fully till I am fully convinced. I do believe in a super power that created this world, but I never follow any specific religion as such.

I pray sometimes. The times that I don't is because I try to get my schedule done and don't have enough time to pray so I just do a quick one while going to bed. I try to be a better person and pray more often but I can't.

I don't have a schedule for praying. I pray when I feel that praying is the best choice in the situation. I pray be it to thank God or ask for forgiveness. I sometimes forget to pray and that is one thing I ask forgiveness for.

Well, I don't spend more time for sure. But yes I do give time for praying everyday, even if it little. Every morning after having bath I used to pray for 5 minutes. I guess if we pray from heart then even 5 minutes is enough.
