What is your favorite nation throughout history?
I'm honestly undecided.

I love Germany as how they created themselves from many Barbaric tribes that united pretty much. I have many to be honest. So many that I can't really have a number 1 but many of them.

As per my name: England, but that might have some degree of bias. ;) Although I am not a Nationalist or anything of that ilk... promise!

I'd have to go with Britain, mainly because I'm British but they did have a pretty awesome empire for a while. We've never really been racist either unlike America which would've been my choice had the treatment of black people been better.

England had many slaves just like USA did back in the day but you guys abolished it like a year before us I believe? Something like that.

Really? I never knew, I asked my History teacher if we ever had slaves while she was teaching us about salvery in America and she said no, she must have been wrong.

Pretty sure they had it but not 100% sure. I want to say yes but my memory is always shaky on England as I never really care to learn its history to be honest. (No offense to English people)

Germany! While Germany has had it's fucked up moments with the holocaust and everything, I have to give them props, because as a military, they fucked shit up.
With great strength comes great respect. That's what I have for Germany. I think overall, Germany is a very interesting and strong nation.

Japan, the early years with tribal warlords and samurai, the imperial years with one of the world's frist intelligence agencies and ninjas, and a group of traveling gamblers that eventually became the first yakuza. Perfect amount of war vice, strong leaders, and exotic and captivating culture.
And modern japan is just as cool. :)

Guys, Italy is where its at! Italy banded together by the strength and wit of Sardinia. Sardinia was able to fend off Austria, while keeping France neutral. Italy was also able to take over Rome and the papal states within 8 years of their original formation of Italy.
Other than that I'd have to say Poland, because I'm part Polish and because they have always been taken over and disrespected.
As for England, yes they had slaves. They didn't abolish slavery until the early 19th century. Every nation and empire has had slaves at one time or another, it used to be the basis of labor before serfs came around.
