Got this awesome guy to do an interview with me.
If you haven't checked out his Youtube channel, I strongly advise you to do so!

Below is a Q&A I conducted with him. Enjoy!!

Q: When did you start playing video games?

A: I was told I was toying around with my parents NES as young as age 3, but I'd say I didn't seriously get into gaming until I was around 7 or 8 with the Sega Genesis we had.

__________
Q: When did you start playing Minecraft?

A: About midway through alpha. I want to say that was 2010 but it's been quite a while now.

__________
Q: What's your advice to begginers trying to get their start there (on Youtube)

A: be super consistent. It's the most important of all tips out there. Come up with a schedule. Doesn't matter if it's one video a day or one a week or one every two weeks. Whatever it is, stick to it like glue. People love consistency and that sort of dependability is what draws people back to your channel.

__________
Q: You seem to love Disney. What's your favorite ride there?

A: Hands down Spaceship Earth. I love the goal of educating people about something so important like communication, and I love that it poses the important question of what we will do as a species with our technology.

__________
Q: When did you first visit a Disney park?

A: I was too young to remember. Maybe 2 or 3? My family went often growing up so I was brought over as a toddler. Early early 1990s.

__________
Q: What's your favorite Disney park?

A: While I love the history behind the Magic Kingdom, I'd say Epcot. I just really appreciate the goal of that park. It didn't try to just be a futuristic version of the Magic Kingdom. It wanted to educate. I always say that the thing that makes Epcot my favorite is that it favors intellectual thrills over physical ones (at least it used to.) Horizons was my favorite ride up until the day it closed because as slow as that ride was, getting to imagine what life in the future would be like was exciting.

__________
Q: besides minecraft, what are some of your other favorite games?

A: Definitely Battlefield 1942. I played that all throughout high school with all of my friends. Definitely the game that showed me the sense of community that can be found in a video game.

__________
Q: What are your predictions for gaming in 2014?

A: On the optimistic end, I think we'll see the Oculus Rift launch and it'll become the first mark in a long future of VR gaming.
I think it'll otherwise be pretty calm. I think this year we'll see the Xbox One and PS4 find their footing with some solid games late in the year. I think we'll see indie games gain even more popularity on Steam with the Humble Bundles growing and more developers adopting the "pay what you want" model.
I think the Elder Scrolls Online will have a really tepid launch and we'll see the community stop asking "What's going to dethrone WoW and THE MMO?" and star asking "Do we even want another MMO as big as WoW was?"

____________

Thank you so much for doing this with me, Rob! Be sure to check out his channel for awesome videos :D
