Hey everyone, I'm in the 10th grade and I could use some help with an assignment for History.
I need 4 metaphors for the USA and the USSR fighting in the Cold War.
Example: The USA and the USSR fought over Berlin, like two children fighting over who have the toys in the sandbox.
You can use any event as an example, here is a list of 18 different things you can make metaphors about. I only need 5 metaphors, each for one of these events/phrases.
Events you are allowed to make metaphors about:
Containment
Marshall Plan
NATO
Warsaw Pact
Peaceful Coexistence
ICBM's
Cuban Missile Crisis
Detente
Salt Treaty
Brezhnev Doctrine
Sputnik
Berlin Blockade
Division of Germany
Nuclear Arms Race
1953 Hungarian Uprising
1968 Czechoslovakian Crisis
Berlin Wall
From all of the things in the spoiler above, I need you to choose 4 different events, and write a neat metaphor comparing the USSR and the USA fighting, to something that is similar. I would appreciate help on this immensely! Thank you.

The Truman Doctrine was like getting rid of the bad apple before the whole barrel goes rotten.

You can make something for the nuclear arms race. Make something like it was a bad thing waiting to happen. I am not good with these, but that seems like the next easiest on the list.

Metaphors do not contain "like" or "as" so based on your example in the first post it would be "The USA and the USSR are two children that fought over a toy in the sandbox".
Still need help on this guys! Come on there oughta be somebody who is good at making metaphors here. Just simply look up the event on Google and make a metaphor or two! c:
