Personally I have a few friends that aren't emo, yet still cut. They used to show people in our school, but I just thought it was plain weird.

2-3 years ago my friend cut himself and showed me, and I was like "wait dude why are you doing that". Apparently it was to make the kids at school think he was cool or something. That was the last time he did that, but yeah. Was weird as fuck.

Cutting yourself should be reserved for two things, and two things only: Cutting yourself on accident due to injury, or cutting yourself because it helps with depression. (Which is true). Not because somebody thinks it's "cool" >.>.

Stopped reading there. That's quite idiotic.

I know there are people who have serious issues and feel the need to cut but people that do it for the attention aggravate me so much. In my school there's way too many people that do it to show off and for people to feel sorry for them, it's really annoying.

I feel that there are other ways that the people who cause self harm could deal instead of cutting themselves. It saddens me a lot when I see that.

This post = amazing.
I have known people who have had issues with cutting.
As for the people who just do it and don't consider themselves emo, it could be a multitude of reasons.
They're depressed and feel they deserve it, they're numb and want to feel something, etc.
I've dealt with cutting more than once in my life, and I know it can be scary.

YES IT NEEDS TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY.

If anyone needs someone to talk to about this, I'm all ears. Pm me anytime at all. (:
I'm here for you.
You're not alone.
