Is an afterlife consistent with known facts?

Some living beings believe in an afterlife, and this seems quite sensible to me. The very fact we exist in this life, and went from non existence to existence is enough to make this a sensible belief.
Both denying the afterlife and believing in one seems sensible to me. I am most happy with believing the possibility of an afterlife but also siding with logic and sticking with what we know for sure.

There is no way to "know for sure' unless you have passed away and then been brought back, i was resuscitated 4 times in a row in an accidental over dose when i was 14 years old. I did see a light seemingly at the end of a tunnel, then everything went black when i presumably was revived. I do not know what was over there near or around the light, i am not even sure it was actually a light at all but maybe mind tricks. I can never know for sure because i can not replicate that scenario. I do think that whatever happens to us after death happens the same to each individual. Regardless of ones nationality or religious preferences, i do however think there may be reincarnation, i know i have owned some animals that had taken to and become quite partial to certain objects, sounds, places or things. It makes you wonder are we all just dying and coming back as something else? Are we passing on then being reborn as a abby only to start the cycle of life all over again? What if there are the same 30 billion people on the planet never to raise in population numbers because we die and come back as another?

I'm open to just about anything, as long as it makes sense.
Why are you confused of our existence? We are like robots but made up of flesh, we have parts that transmit and store information, etc. Problem is we age and die off. It's like a robot shutting down and being erased. I try to look at it that way, as it makes most sense to me. I wish there was something else after this life, but I honestly don't think there is. Until someone can prove to me otherwise, I'm not going to follow some religion that shows me nothing but fake happiness to blind reality.
