First time I have to agree with this guy, he is right.

The best anti-virus you that exists is your brain, reverse-engineering software is optional!

I keep everything on four external 1.5 TB hard drives, I maintain regular backups up cookies, settings, and bookmarks. I reformat once every other month. But I have never went a year without checking. My externals get scanned at each reformat, in case I should have found a FUD previously and if so at the time of scan HOPEFULLY it has been picked and is no longer FUD.

I have Windows 8.. It is pretty vulnerable, so Microsoft incorporated Windows Defender, best working anti virus for Win8.

I also don't use an antivirus. I have Kaspersky premium but it's so terrible and intrusive when active. I just periodically scan with MBAM and haven't had any problems with viruses.
