Putting Down Animals?

I'd like to know what you guys think about putting down animals, whether it is ones that attack people or just over crowded shelters having to put down animals for lack of space.

I understand the concept, and I understand there is not much other choice. That being said animals especially dogs have feelings, and thoughts I believe and to me their life is just as important as a human life, I am 100% against this and would love to know what you guys think, and why?

I don't agree with it, but regarding animals who attack people what would you suggest as an alternative?
Society would freak out if nothing was done to a dog that killed a young girl. Sure the dog isn't evil, but instinct is real, and accidents can happen. Regarding over crowding of shelters, I think that's absurd. There's always alternatives but people tend to take the easy way out of things in such situations. It's unfortunate that animals do get put down frequently in said situations.

I do see your point with the the dog attacking, but still I feel putting down Animals isn't the right thing to do there are many alternatives. But yes over crowding in animal rescue centers in Canada they will send the oldest dogs to be put down to make room for new ones

I think if the dog is a threat to a human or even other animals then it should be put down.

It is unfair to a dog to be put down for an accident. A dog does what it is raised to do, if a dog isn't raised correctly and isn't a good dog, the owner should be put down ;)

Not just on one occasion, i mean constantly.

Its the exact same view of mine as it is for euthanasia, if the dog is in extreme pain only then can it be put down.

Yes, if they are in pain such as someone has got broken bones all over their body, they do not want to live etc.

Well my dog was dying of kidney failure, so she just had to be put down... most saddest day of my life.
