Who has attempted it?  What was your story?  Also, what languages did you use - and where did you learn the languages?  What languages do you prefer to create games?

Do you use a "helper program"?  There are some programs out there that greatly shorten the work of creating a game.  I'd assume most game makers use them.

Anyway, myself, I took a lot of computer courses back in the 2000s (I'm 42 now.) - but I never really attempted a game, though, I wanted to.  It just boils down to making enough to time to do it.

I'm giving game development a shot, I come from a full stack javascript background so naturally I tried doing it with what I know. Generally the game development community uses C based languages like C# and C++ . As far as helper programs, Indie developers usually need to decide weather to build their own game engine, or use another. Popular ones are Unreal Engine and Unity. I'm working on building my own engine for a text based game that uses fuzzy pattern matching algorithms to drive the encounters. Once I've built the engine that drives the game, It should be rinse and repeatable for as many stories as I can come up with. Anyways good luck with your game making
