Hi All.

I recently locked myself out of my crypto wallet. I've recovered my login ID but cant figure out my password. I have an unlimited attempts and the wallet provider has explained its noncustodial so they cant help me recover my password. As theres no limit on attempts I was thinking of brute forcing it but am not really sure where to start.
Is anyone able to suggest a good brute force software, a good set of password lists or random generators and a tutorial on how to use this ?

Thanks for the help <3

umm let's see I am guessing you have a .dat file? If this is the case try the old goodies like John The Ripper/HashCat or btcrecover

https://github.com/gurnec/btcrecover

As for passwords start writing words you remember and think it maybe, it's what 12-24 words so yeah you will probably have to setup some rules for all that but yeah it may take a while. Let's be honest bruteforcing is a trade off between the time and success.

I personally would start with btcrecover it's a little more geared for it. Full disclosure never cracked a wallet, cracked quite a few passwords but not wallets. Perhaps someone else has done it and can chime in.
