Depends on how long I would live in that area and the area I'm at. Most likely I would buy a house buy it's circumstantial for me.

become a renter and sublet to a group of foreigners you kidnapped and force to work illegally to pay you and you can then use that money to buy an actual house

Rent an house is typically throwing money away. Better buy a house and maybe take a loan.

I bought a single wide trailer in my area and rent it out for 600 a month, it pays for my mortgage essentially giving me a free home.

depending on where you're from it's generally better to rent on a statistic level
