I have seen many articles and videos where people rub a wax candle on the top of a shoe & then it becomes waterproof... Have you guys tried this out? Does it even work?

Closest to waterproofing shoes I have done is buying water resistant.

Yes it'll get the job done but the wax marks are visible at times. A better way will be to do a proper waterproofing from those places where they do ceramic coatings.

Waterproof sprays are good but you have to keep reapplying them. Best thing to do if you don't want to get your shoes dirty is to not wear them.

your skin is waterproof, surely for anything you are doing that requires for you to submerge your shoes then you could just not wear shoes

Tips : It's not waterproof, water can go in and out otherwise your skin would just get dry and you would die
