Alert/Notification Plugin

Is there any plans to implement an alert plugin? I like to know when I've been quoted as opposed to venturing back to the thread and finding the post.

I went through every suggestion thread and no search results came up when I looked, so I hope this hasn't been suggested yet. Kind of surprised actually. If it has, just delete this thread.

I would most certainly have to agree with this ! It would be very helpful and make response times very much quicker ! Hopefully this is seen, and considered !

This has been discussed before, I am currently working on plugins that will allow this, and step out all of the unnecessary functions and allow users to use their own cp to choose which notifications they wish to see. However currently the resources are still a bit too high and would require that some processes to be moved to a sub domain. Long of the sort this will not be implemented now or anytime soon.
