Now, when most of you see the word Motivations, instantly you are thinking of positives, but motivation is simply the reason or reasons one has for acting or behaving in a particular way. This does not mean positive, nor does it mean negative.
That being explained, what are some Motivations you feel you have, or face on a normal day?
Mine would be my lovely family, my work, this forum, trying to stay true to myself if no one else, and staying one step ahead and taking everything i hear with a grain of salt
For those of you wondering..
In common parlance, if something is to be taken with a grain of salt, it means that a measure of healthy skepticism should be applied regarding a claim; that it should not be blindly accepted and believed without any doubt or reservation. According to the Oxford English Dictionary "to take 'it' with a grain of salt" means "to accept a thing less than fully". It dates this usage back to 1647.
I have many motivations. Some are positive, some are unfortunately not.
My family, friends, God, and of course Clyde are some of the positive ones. I want to be a criminal profiler, so that goal in my mind is also positive motivation.
Negative motivation? Ugh.
Living with depression, anxiety, and OCD motivate me to try to stay on the positive side of things. They also make me more observant. But! They also make me feel and do things at times that aren't positive. (Like sleeping all day just because I'm depressed).
