Do you own a site and if yes, do you deal with adblock? I saw some sites preventing readers from proceeding until they turn off their adblock and personally, I dislike such sites because my adblock is turned on by default. I only turn off adblock for sites which I really enjoy and want to support it. For me to know if the site is worth turning off adblock, I will first need to see the content beforehand. On my blog, I do not use such system to force readers to turn off adblock because I want to ensure a better user experience. What about you?

I also keep my ad block off when I'm in a site I believe deserves it. I tend to keep it on when I enter sites in which their ads slows down my system.

Forcing people to turn off adblock is a big mistake in my opinion, from personal experience the moment I see a site like that I leave and try to find another one (yes, most likely than not whatever content your website have exists on another site, unless your site only covers a very small niche)

I've seen sites do the following: Block content until adblock is disabled, pop-up message asking to please turn off adblock, having you take a captcha with ads. if you have adblock on for every new page you visit on their site or advertise a premium membership for low cost to view without ads.

I don't have any such things in my forum either. Everyone is free to browse the content present in various threads. Still, forcing to turn off the adblock isn't a good idea but you will have to admit that, we are losing so much income. Sites used to gain income from ads alone but now, that is not the case. Now, we have to depend on our income to maintain the site or we have to go for donations.

I just hope all the webmasters consider limited number of ads on their site and I hope all the users browse sites, without adblock.

I have access blocked to users who have AdBlock on my file hosting site, reason being is server costs are not cheap & ads help pay for this as the the hosting service I offer is free.

Adblock is good for any malware sites.

Anyway, I agree with @The Plug to support the creator of the website in collaboration with the advertiser site like google adsense. I'lll turn it off to appreciate the articles that he has made.
