Earthquake rocks northern Japan

An 8.9-magnitude earthquake hit northern Japan on Friday, March 11, 2011, triggering tsunami warnings in dozens of countries.

Casualties are said to be in the thousands by now, with over seven hundred confirmed to have been killed. It's a pure tragedy at best. :(

This is one of the worst earthquakes in the world. I believe it's the 5th strongest recorded earthquake and its consequences are devestating.
