Well, I`m screwed. I`m a med student who wants to be a surgeon, so I can`t be blind. But I`m also a musician, so i can`t be deaf. It`s hard to choose. But, is it born deaf or acquired deaf? If it is acquired deaf i would certainly choose this. But a surgeon needs to hear too. Oh god... LOL

I'd rather be deaf. I can't even stand thinking of how life would be if I were blind, I wouldn't be able to see my daughter. If I were deaf at least I would be able to read peoples lips to try and understand what they're saying. Seeing darkness all my life would make me feel suffocated and lost, maybe even alone. I don't know about you but I feel so fortunate to be capable of being able to see and hear.

This is sooo hilarious! Lol. I mean look at this troubled medico! Haha a surgeon needs eyes more than ears...

This is the real reason behind this post. We are forgetting to appreciate what we have as true assets: an intact functioning body. Others are not so fortunate. Appreciated your realisation.

Well, obviously my answer would be none of the given choices since being blind/deaf or simply handicapped in today's society makes it really difficult to survive. Even for the well bodied, many are struggling to make ends meet so handicapped will definitely have much tougher time indeed.
If the question is posed to ask which is worse (as a handicap), then I would say being blind is a terribly disturbing condition since you would be living in darkness. Compared to being deaf, being blind really disrupt your life upside down since you will really be dependent on other people for many daily life task. This is unlike being deaf, which is not as disruptive since you can make up for the weakness using your other senses.

I tried both, it was not fun. If I can chose I would like to be rich and happy, not disabled.

I'd rather be deaf. I'd probably die of claustrophobia if I can't see. I can live without hearing but seeing, most of my jobs are going to be lost. If I lose hearing, I can still work but I will just need someone to communicate with people instead of me.

I think anyone would prefer a deaf surgeon than a blind one. I've seen many surgeons that are bad of hearing and actually get the job done well. They just need most things in writing.

This is the correct choice in all situations of these options.

I'd rather be blind. It's not like that being blind is better than being deaf, but I really love music and and I can't leave myself not hearing music so I'd rather be blind rather than deaf.
