I've lived in a socialist country most of my life, and I moved to the USA a bit over half a year back. I've studied communism in an un-biased environment, and my belief is that it's a system that works. The fact that people don't like communism is that it's not far away from tyranny. 'True' communism means there is no government, and people follow rules everyone agrees on. 'True' communism is hard to achieve in a large community, like Russia and China. This is where everything goes to hell. To make a large communist community work, there has to be a government, which often results in tyranny, when the government uses their power to do what either needs to be done, or they want to be done. This kind of government is not communism by definition. After moving to the US, I'm shocked by the fact children are brainwashed taught that communism is the absolute opposite of freedom, when it's the epitome of freedom. I've even heard 'communist' been used as an insult several times. I'm appalled by the ignorance that's being taught here. With communism, there is no government to tell you what to do. People might debate this will result in anarchy, or lawlessness, but there will be law enforcement, appointed by the people as a whole. Again, large-scale communism has been proven not to work. A community of several thousand people is what I imagine to be the largest a communist nation can be.

Yes, true, but would you yourself dislike living in such a community?

This *may* be off topic, but is Russia communist? Or what are they?

Russia has never been communist, per se. The USSR was a communist country, but Russia is a republic.

Oh, that's where I got it from. Thanks :)

I don't exactly agree with communism. I like where I live and I'd rather have debates about what the president is doing rather than debates about allowing everyone to access the internet.
