Why rape cases are on the rise all over the world?

Nowadays you can’t pass a day without hearing any news about sexual assault and the surprising fact is that both males and females are victims to this heinous crime.  To be frank there is no fool proof method to arrest the growing number of rape cases all over the world.  We are doing everything like  educating people, bringing awareness about AIDS, more importance is given to self defense, law is strengthened to punish the culprits and whatever it is, but the bitter reality is that crime rate is always on the rise.

What might be the actual reason for this alarming rate of growth of sexual assaults?

The actual reason for this alarming rate of growth of sexual assaults? How about the increasing number of criminals? Because that's a crime.
Also, we were unable to know about the increase without an increase in the society itself.
IN some societies victims of rape are non-existent because they can't report it.

Also, the rape and a sexual assault is not the same.

I think with increasing awareness, public support and women empowerment, the rape / assault cases are coming into view more frequently. The encouraging punishment for the criminals are gibing hope for juatice to the victims unlike in the past where only victims were stigmatised more.

Women should study martial arts and have training with fire arms. Women should consider trying to be strong and athletic instead of girly and prissy. It is about time for women to try being physically strong. If you are strong, no one will mess with you.

I highly doubt that rape cases are on the rise. In fact, the perception of this trend is due to widespread use of media which allows such news to be read by many people. In the past, there are also rape cases, just that we do not know of it because there is no means for us to do so. Now, the media is more prominent, not to mention the rise of Internet as a new tool for such news to reach global audience.

The issue of rape is all about social and cultural in nature. Think of what illegal drugs can do to the mind of a person such that an addict would behave strangely as to rape and kill with no purpose at all. In some countries like the Middle East, the root cause is the deprivation. Men are not allowed to see a naked woman and the women there are fully wrapped including the face. So that deprivation adds to the hidden desire and pent up emotion of the men such that they commit rape when they couldn't control themselves anymore.

I think rape has always been an issue that must be stopped but how can it. Unless the rapests when locked up are never aloud out. Also have police be more active even so it would be kind of difficult to determine when a rapest will strike.

Let me just drop this here I think some of our ladies should learn how to dress properly without being unnecessarily or necessarily trying to seduce the opposite sex. These days you will see a lady scantily dress, partially exposing the sensitive parts of her body mind you it is said that men are moved by sight.

I do not believe that dress code is the reason for rape. Little girls , women in Burkas and even manly looking butch lesbians had been raped. Most people in Hawaii are half naked because it is a beach and it has low rape cases. You do not hear rape cases in Nudist communities neither.

The only reason why there are low reported rape cases in the middle east is the fact that it is the victim who gets punished that's why most victims stayed quiet.
