Just cleaned up my 6 year old windows XP laptop

Just spent a few hours cleaning up my 2008 Acer Aspire1. I removed all of the vulnerabilities and viruses. Most of it was just games that I downloaded from god-knows-where. I got it basically back to it's factory settings.

It was oddly satisfying cleaning up and getting this thing up to speed. A real sense of accomplishment. In total, I removed about 50gb of unwanted programs/software. I plan to use it for experimental purposes and to just have a computer to screw around with.

They're actually very reliable. It's running web browsers just as fast as my current PC. It'll be nice to have one for travel, as well.

Your laptop, not the old one, looks dangerously close to my old one.. HP Dv7 xD.. I now have a nice windows 8 computer for browsing, and a windows 7 desktop for gaming xD

HAH, oh god no. CoD:Ghosts is so broken it can't even run properly on SLI'd Titans. Broken as hell.

It's the HP Envym6 (first version)

Runs games really well. I only wish it was windows7 and it would be perfect.

Good stuff. I agree on the part that it is very enjoyable to try to optimize a old system to its maximum.
