As you already know BlackBerry is going through a very bad phase of handset industry nowadays.  As a remedy to the situation, BlackBerry started using Android in their latest devices.  As per company officials this is their last attempt to revive the industry and if they are not able for a comeback there will be no other option but to close down the business.

According to latest reports, the company has already cut 200 jobs in its headquarters at Ontario and in Florida as a cost cutting measure. The company is confident of a good turn around this time. The layoffs will affect 75 manufacturing jobs in Sunrise, Florida.

What do you think of BlackBerry’s survival chances?

Honestly.. I think No.

Simple fact being no-one buys blackberrys anymore, there was a huge hype for BBM when I was younger and that was the only reason people actually bought blackerries but since they released it for free to android & iPhone no one uses BlackBerries anymore.

I have never owned a Blackberry device even though I like it back then. The price for it was more than I was willing to spend, plus paying for the phone provider wasn't feasible for me. Last year while looking for a new phone, I was considering buying it, but I was given the iPhone 5 instead. I am thinking the Blackberry will be wiped out in the future since I don't even know one person who has Blackberry anymore!

BlackBerries don't have a future in this new smartphone-industry, in my opinion. They were cool like 7 years ago but since these new smartphones have all those fancy and complicated things in them what people are after, Blackberries kind of died. They haven't really changed over the years, which is good to some, and even when I'd consider them as classics, I'd have to wave goodbyes to that company. I actually haven't seen anyone use them for ages and most of the people have already kind of forgot that the whole brand existed.

In future, there will be only two types of phone iPhone and samsung phone. Most of the hands sets are bastard versions of samsung and iphone. Blackberry is a failure. Recently Blackberry has been launched as an Android phone, but I don't think it will survive.

If I remember correctly I'm pretty sure I read a article about them being on the urge of bankruptcy.

I don't think this will happen lol... It's true that samsung and iphone are good companies but the others are not bastards...
Iphone isn't really the best phone, you basically pay for the brand and it's happening more and more to samsung. Lots of cheap brands are starting to rock such as xiaomi, one plus... I think those are the one with future, people will notice samsung and iphone is overpriced and will go for these. We still need to lose the fear of trying new phones.

I remember when I read in Readers Digest about the popularity of Blackberry sometime in the year 2000s that some people admitted their obsession with it. That they cannot live without their blackberry and some couldn't sleep without checking their Blackberry first.

But the good old days of Blackberry is in the past tense. How can it compete with the smart phone? It is now a graphics game just like the olden days when the micro computer was text only and Microsoft came up with the first Windows that have graphics. It was a no contest. I think Blackberry is rethinking its stand on the market and trying to find a way on how to re-invent itself.

But survival of Samsung in handset manufacturing business  is also a big question.  With the advent of Chinese mobile phones, all Android mobile manufacturers including Samsung are under threat of stiff competition.  These Chinese models are available at very low rates with great features. Nowadays it has been a trend to change mobile phones  quite often and people are not keen to invest more in mobile phones.  Due to stiff competition even iPhone is forced to reduce price  of some of their latest models.  So survival of the fittest would be the rule of the game I think.  Samsung has already started developing its own mobile OS called Tizen.
