I am just wondering how many iPhone 6 users know that Apple will disable your phone if you have it fixed with a third-repair shop? It is a bad move that now they want to dominate the entire repair market and we must carry out with Apple authorized dealers. You can read it here:

I hope there will be an influx of Apple users against this monopolizing and controlling act so that we still have the freedom to take it to where we can afford it for fixing!

I saw this on the news and while I personally don't have a iPhone the rest of my family do, me and my dad have always been android fans and my mum & sister are iPhone fans but when I told my sister about this she said she's making sure she never breaks her phone lmao

@Ibzz I have the iPhone 5 so I don't think I have to worry about this for a while. My sister just bought the iPhone 6+ from a repair shop, so if anything goes wrong, she will have to take it back to the shop.
If this is true and Apple disabled the phone when it gets fixed by a technician that is not approved by Apple, they will lost many many customers! (I hope so, anyway)!

I think this doesn't make any sense, as you say they will lose a lot of customers, their repair shop will probably be overpriced just as all their products and it's probably not as handy as going to the nearest technology shop around your area.

I mean, it's not difficult to get an authorized repair. You don't have to go to the Apple Store for one, there are authorized repair places in Best Buys.
Also, it's specifically about the Touch ID not matching the rest of the hardware. The Touch ID, getting a fingerprint to authorize transactions, is a huge security flaw if not handled correctly. With the kind of potential breach of privacy, a nuclear option is probably best.

Can a repair to be extremely expensive, especially in my country to you afford such a phone is really hard, because if you mess up or crash it costs you once the phone, so it does not even have a to use a phone charm iphone, android choose better, I think it will be a blast when we will be reaching out for iphone.

I saw this thread and I immediately told my sister about it, because she owns an Iphone 6. She said, and I quote, it is "highly likely, and I don't doubt that they do this kind of things".
There are a lot of "scams" out there. You got to keep an eye on them, really.

I believe it was fixed in the latest patch. It's just to help prevent people from cracking into your phone by putting in unofficial hardware such as replacing the TouchID scanner etc.
