I thought I would contribute by making an In-depth guide on one of my favorite Dota 2 heroes, Gondar the bounty hunter (meow), I hope you learn something.

[Image: 1AQ6xQw.png] About Gondar:

Bounty hunter is basically an agility semi-carry with amazing burst, above average movement speed and a great escape via stealth.
Gondar is a skill based hero, Some heroes such as Skeleton King revolve around their passive abilites, this is not the case with Gondar at all as he NEEDS his spells to be effective (fuck you silencer).
Basically you are a ganker/nuker, Your job is to gank side lanes and fuck shit up.

Pros/Cons

Pros:
  • One of the highest level per agility gains in the game
  • Great movement speed, even greater combined with the bonus from windwalk
  • Amazing ganking oriented tool-set
  • A cat
  • The enemy team is afraid of you
  • Reliable ranged mini-stun that cancels channeling spells
  • Did I mention that he's a cat? Now that's bad ass.
  • Cool as hell voice
  • Doesn't need items to do well
  • Gold gain from his ult makes up for time spent outside of lane
  • He's a freaking cat that goes around stabbing people in the back and throwing shurikens

Cons:
  • Low Strength gain per level
  • Can be countered early
  • Small mana pool
  • Isn't up to par with hard carry DPS late game
  • Generally weak early game

As you can see the Pros outweigh the cons by a long shot but keep in mind that Gondar's greatest downfall is that he's able to get countered early and especially in high level play.
He's also a cat.

This is the bulk of bounty hunter's early game burst, you wan't to max this first as early game is when it's most effective, a 300 damage nuke on a low CD is nothing to laugh about (Except when you're a cat of course).
What really gives Shuriken toss it's Bad assery is the mini-stun as it stops any channeling spell, Crystal maiden trying to TP away? #360mlgnoscopeshurikentoss, Enigma destroying your team with black hole? Shuriken toss, Sand king ulting? Shuriken toss, The amount of Utility this skill has outweighs it's damage.

I like to max this skill first as this could guarantee first blood if your lane partner reacts accordingly.

Tip: It costs quite a bit of mana early game so avoid spamming it.

Jinada is Gondar's second ability and it compliments his burst perfectly, this will be your go-to skill when shuriken's damage starts to falter, as the crit Jinada along with a shuriken toss is something very few heroes can survive, If by chance they do survive the 25% slow as well as the movement speed bonus from your ultimate will be more than enough to chase them down.

I put a point in Jinada at level 4 and max it after shuriken as it will greatly increase your snowballing potential but putting more than one point before shuriken is maxed is useless as the crit gain will barely be noticeable early with low base damage.

Tip: Feel free to stealth and to give your lane opponent a little tap as Jinada does a lot of damage even early in the game.
Tip #2: Jinada has great synergy with your ult as armor reduction is amplified by crits.

Ahh Shadow Walk, Gondar's signature skill, this is the skill that defines bounty hunter, his set wouldn't be complete without it.
Shadow walk is basically a low cooldown, low mana cost spell that puts you into stealth and adds 30 backstab damage to your next auto-attack.
The amount of times I've gotten out of sticky situations because of this spell are too much to count, being as squishy as you are this spell will be your panic button as well as your best friend during ganks, Let's not forget that with a well timed Shadow walk you can dodge a majority of projectile spells, this skill will make your opponents pull their hair out in the hands of a skilled bounty hunter.

I like to get this skill at level 1 to avoid early ganks as you're pretty weak early and I like to have this skill at level 2 before level 6 as the 5 seconds of extra stealth time could be the difference between being spotted by a ward or getting your knife in someone's back.

Tip: Shadow walk cannot be used to dodge a spell if the enemy can see you. (Dust, sentry wards, etc)

Tip #2: Remember to always have mana for Shadow Walk in-case you need to get out of sticky situations.

This is Bounty Hunter's bread-and-butter skill, as they say. It is what puts him above other semi-carries and gankers. It elevates him above other heros because it makes him the most efficient ganker. It's a basic concept of economics: the opportunity cost. What you lose by making a decision. The opportunity cost of ganking is the loss of farm, gold and exp.

With ganking, the deterrent is always that you will be losing farm time, and there is no guarantee of a kill, for that matter. Track solves all of your problems, Track can be used in more ways than one but I'm going to leave that for you to discover but always remember the gold gain as pimping is never easy.

Tip: This skill has a low cooldown and a very low mana cost, it works well with all your spells so spam it.

Tip #2: If you track targets before they go into stealth they will be instantly revealed, keep that in mind when ganking stealth heroes such as Riki.

[Image: 1AQ6xQw.png] Friends and Bounty:

Friends:
Bounty hunter has amazing lane synergy with a variety of heroes, I'll list some of the heroes bounty hunter just loves to lane with but use some of your imagination for more.

Bounty hunter goes well with heroes that have long-ranged skills that require precision as well as timing, Gondar's track will keep vision of your target giving your team-mate the edge he needs to land a crucial spell.
Examples:
All these heroes have Skill shot nukes that can change a battle when landed.

Heroes who are very-powerful late game but need an edge to stay in it late game also work wonderfully with Bounty Hunter as the combined early game burst will easily snag you or your ally first blood.
Examples:
These heroes have amazing damage early game but that falls off if they don't get ahead, Bounties amazing ganks combined with the bonus gold from his ultimate will make sure they get ahead.

It isn't an extensive list but nothing a little imagination can't fix.

Tip: Look out for heroes who reduce armor as that combined with the armor reduction from track will make for some explosive results.

Bounty:
Bounty hunter has an extensive list of heroes he stomps, I will include some of them in this list and I will explain why.

Heroes who's gameplay revolves around stealth just Alt+F4 when they find out that Gondar is on the enemy team as your track renders their stealth useless.
Examples:
These heroes revolve around stealth to a degree, good thing you can smell their stench.

Heroes with Team-demolishing channeling spells that change the tide of a team fight when left alone won't be feeling high and mighty when a Shuriken comes their way to ruin their day (Rhymes yo).
Examples:

As with the friends list, this one can be enhanced with your imagination.

[Image: 1AQ6xQw.png]Item and Skill Build:

I took the liberty of making Steam hero build of the items I use, feel free to modify it however you please.

[Image: 1AQ6xQw.png]Conclusion:

Well that's it for my guide, this is my attempt at getting the Dota 2 scene a bit more active here on HF, feedback is appreciated and I hope you have fun playing Gondar as that's the aim of the game.
If this guide gets enough feedback then there will be more to come.
