Qatar terminates Filipino workers

There is a retrenchment going on in Qatar, particularly in the capital city of Doha. Most affected are Filipino workers which reportedly number in thousands who were terminate with no reason given. It is presumed that the layoff was the effect of the sliding price of oil in the world market hence the income of Qatar is slashed. Filipino workers are puzzled why the retrenchment since the construction of infrastructure has to be accomplished before the FIFA football games which Qataris are crazy about.

The Philippine consulate in Qatar has not given a reason behind the issue.

Poor Filipino workers, they're working hard yet they're just terminated. The Philippine consulate must give a concrete reason behind this. This is just a very maddening issue.
