We had our first dog when I was already middle aged. Although we had dogs in our house before when I was living with my parents, this time it is my own house. It ididn't occur to me that dogs are like companions who can take away the stress of the daily life. Especially when my wife comes home from work, she would be welcomed by our dogs and that scene would definitely give her spirit a boost.

Being enamoured to dogs, 2 of our dogs are sleeping in our bedroom and one sleeps in the housemaid's bedroom. So if you need a companion who would always understand you, get a dog and you will have a life.

Indeed you are right. I had a German Shepherd among many other pets. He was huge and no amount of taming would make him domestic but he was loving. We had tough time as noone would visit us, not even the grocermonger or milkman! We had to send him away for proper care though.

Dogs are a good companions but far away from understanding humans, I wouldn't go so far because dogs are made up to suit humans and to serve us, so any other connotation is just a nice fairy tale that we tell to ourselves.. They need a pack leader to follow and it makes them easy to control.
I think you ment to say 'you will have a better life' and not 'a life'.

Taking care of your dog would be a good idea. Not only is it healthy for them but they will grow to love you too. My dog always gets really excited when I take her for a walk. After the walk she follows me wherever I go. Dogs need to be with people and they don't like being alone. In some ways dogs are very much like humans as they have the same kind of feelings we do.

You are quite correct dogs are friendly funny creatures that are capable of keeping us excited and laugh. Health wise it has been said that laughing is good for our health and this is one free benefit we can get by just watching the behavior of our dog. Dogs help secure our environment chasing away strange unpredictable people.

Dogs are probably the greatest pets. They are always there when you need them. They will secure everything in your house at the same time provide the comfort and stress relief you need. I do think that dogs are really man's bestfriend.
