This is the trending and most controversial issue of the day in our country, the Philippines. The President-elect Rody Duterte hinted to revive or reintroduce the death penalty to those harden criminals, to those who commit heinous crimes, rape, among others. Those who are found guilty beyond the reasonable doubt would be hung in the public.
Do you think is it humane to impose to those murderers and criminals?

I am hundred percent in favor of the move if the crime is under the 'heinous' category. If a man has no power to give life to someone he has no power to take one too and if he does so brutally he should pay the price. That will instinct some of the fear that is decreasing with too much power to so called human rights. Did you think about the human rights of the persons who suffered by the acts of these hard core criminals?

I agree with you on the point if you cannot create life, then you certainly most not take life. That said, how about a situation whereby such criminals are being locked up for life to die inside the prison. I think by this the person continues to regret and feel the pains of his devilish act each passing day before he finally dies.

I would have accepted your point but let me tell you that most such criminals having money power spending their lives lavishly even inside the jails. I have points to prove that some of them live a normal life having all the facilities including cell phones, newspaper, TV, food, and even drinks.

There had been cases where innocent people got killed by death penalty and their innocence was only confirmed years later after their death.

I am totally in favor of the death penalty, those accused and convicted for death penalty worthy crimes do deserve it. Although I do not believe it shows people that killing is wrong, it does nothing of that sort.

I am completely in favor of it, if you don't want that punishment don't commit the crime. Even though death would kind of be rewarding in a way since they won't suffer any further so I would suggest torture. Criminals who kill innocent people or rape deserve to suffer because they don't have feelings anyway.

There are times when countries implement death penalty in the most wrong way. In a Muslim country a 13 year old girl got punished with death penalty for adultery. That girl is raped and she is the one who got punished.

There is a law being brewed in Uganda to make Homosexuality punishable by Death penalty and this one have support by both Christians and Muslims.

You really think only heinous crimes can be punished by death penalty?

Yes, I am in favor for death penalty. It is an effective way to deter criminals from committing acts that would harm the society. Even if it does not deter them from doing so, removing such people from the society may be a better option than feeding them in prisons.

Countries with Death Penalty still have high crime rates. It won't deter criminals at all. Crime Prevention is the best way to stop crime. Governments should try to stop drugs because many murderers are drug users. Governments should try to fix family relationships because most murderers are from abusive families. Government should create jobs so people wont resort to drug pushing or robbing.
