What are your thoughts on abortion?

I personally think the gov't should stay out of it and let the mother decide for herself.

You went from 1 to 3 ;)

I too believe those who are anti-abortion should leave it up to the mother and that is it. No belittling, no discouragement. Don't you think the mother who decides to terminate a growing fetus is going through enough hardships? Perhaps the situation calls for it, maybe a product of rape. BUT there is always two sides to a coin so the argument can go on and on.

In my case rape isn't any different in consensual sex because the result it always the same; your holding a baby.

I do agree the government should stay out of te citizens personal property and lives however when it comes to something as unique as a life it's different.

I believe that the instant a baby is conceived, it's a living thing. I feel very powerfully about this as a result of the medical background I actually have. I feel that if you have sex, unprotected that is, it's your responsibility to make sure that a baby isn't made. Accidents do happen, however it's still your responsibility to try to to what's right.

I don't suppose abortion ought to be used as a way of contraception(Birth Control). That's my main purpose. many of us can go make and never even contemplate the chance or possibility that they will become pregnant. There are many of us who say that it had been an accident, well an accident may are prevented through oral contraception, keeping your pants on, or a condom.

One circumstance that I believe abortion is an option is once either the baby, and/or mother have a high risk of dying throughout the birth. It's not right to force a mother to go throughout a full pregnancy, solely within the end to find that the kid never had an opportunity to even live. That's a lot of heartbreaking than simply going out and having an abortion.

EDIT: 11:47: Proof Reading and an Addition to my view.

What about rape. Say, a 14 year old girl is held down and raped by someone. Must she carry the burden of having a child at that young age?

I think the government should stay out of it if the woman/soon to be mother is over the age of 18. If that already isn't in effect. I dont know much about the laws of abortion...

The next circumstance is that if the woman was raped... 1st of all I'll mention that this is not the woman's fault and that they shouldn't be reminded perpetually of the hurtful thing that this person did. All it'll do is have a damaging affect on both the kid and her. How would you feel if you were raped and got pregnant then were told that you simply need to carry this baby for 9 months? Some women would settle for the baby as a gift of God, and others may see it as a punishment.

TL;DR; They should have the choice.
