Hello, i always wanted to make a CS:GO Guide to help players who are new to the game or struggle with the game mechanics.

First of all i think i should tell you about my time in CSGO, i started playing and stopped after 2 or 3 rounds because of the sadly toxic community.
I didn't play for a few months back in 2014 and installed the game after that time again. I played some Matchmaking games and ranked in as a Silver Elite.
I played more often and it took me a while to get into Nova. At that time i added some people i met in game that i thought could be good premates to play with.
I have a total of 4700 hours and it wasn't always fun. I loved and i hated the game. It took me about 2500 hours to get Supreme Master First Class and it was a nice feeling.

To Kill the biggest question overall: NO your Skin won't change the condition! Factory New will stay factory new and so on.

As a team, the rate of winning will increase, it will even rise higher if you have a good leader, if everyone will follow instructions made by your leader and if everyone is playing serious. It wont work if 4 people are running b and one is throwing a nade into the crowd.

1: Resolution 16:9 or 4:3(stretched)
2: Config / Autoexec
3: Modes
4: Train your aim and your reaction
5: Smokes/Flashes/Nades (Tutorials/Timing)
6: Teamwork/Tactics
7: Maps
8: Sound
9: Fun Community modes

1: Your Resolution

16:9 or 4:3 what should i use?
Good Question Jimmy! But you should find out yourself. Everything has advantages and disadvantages.
First of all: It is even legal to play with different settings on events (Tournaments etc.)
I played with 16:9 first and changed to 4:3, since that i got even better at the game.
16:9 : Your Fov is better than in 4:3 because the Sites are chopped of. You are able to see more.
4:3 : Like i mentioned above, the sites are chopped off. You are limited in the Fov but it could help you with stress because you have a smaller area to look at.
4:3 stretched : Even better imo. The Enemy will get wider even if it will only look like it. It could help you hitting the enemy!

2: Config / Autoexec

Nearly every Player has a Config and or a autoexec.
It could help you in the way that you adjust your Keys, you can make a Chat-bind and you can make keys to fast buy guns/nades/armor.
A Site that could help you with that is:
https://autoexec.global-offensive.com
Other than that you can even change your crosshair! This could make it more visible!
https://tools.dathost.net/
3: Modes

1: Casual: 10vs10 first Team to get 8 Rounds Wins the match.

2: Arms Race/ Demolition/ Flying Scoutsman: Cool fun modes.
- Arms Race Weapons will change after Kills first to get a Knife kill wins the Game
- Demolition 5vs5 players on smaller maps, 1 kill gets you a new weapon, every extra kill gets you a grenade!
- Flying Scoutsman, the mode where the Gravity is reduced, the Accuracy of the Gun in increased and only the SSG08 and the Knife are equipped.

3: Deathmatch: 10vs10 Teams, 10 minute rounds, the Player with the most Points wins! Guns give you different Points for a kill! Chicken gives you 1 Point per kill.

4: Competitive: 5vs5 Player Matchmaking. First 16-x wins or 15-15= tie. Change Side after 15 played rounds. Cooldown after Quit Enabled!

5: Wingman: 2vs2 Player Competitive on small marked maps. Cooldown after Quit Enabled!

6: Danger Zone: 16-18 Players. You take your drop point at the beginning of the round. Ammo is limited, collect money to buy armor/ammo/guns.

4: Train your Aim and your reaction!

To kill a player fast you should shoot him in the Head, but how can you do this?
You should aim at the height of the Heads in the game, a Headshot with the AK will Kill everyone even with a Helmet, but you can shoot him 10 times in the foot and you will only see 2hp in 3 hits.
You can practice aiming and reaction on a lot of maps, i love this map for something like that:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=243702660
It will take a lot of time, but it will help you! You can even take a look at the textures of the map, nearly on every corner is something at the right height to get your Crosshair to head height.
It will help you with Reaction too!
To stay alive you should kill your enemy before he can react. The AWP is a good example for this, at the right angles you can stay half behind your cover and will be able to kill your enemy before he could react to it.
It will take a lot of time, but it will help you! You can even take a look at the textures of the map, nearly on every corner is something at the right height to get your Crosshair to head height.

5: Smokes/Flashes/Nades (Tutorials/Timing)

As a Terrorist you have to get on site to plant the bomb, as a Counter-Terrorist you have to protect your site but how do you do this? Nades will help you!
As a CT you can Smoke entrances to the side, this will stop most of the T's to run onto your site and it will take important seconds from them!
A Grenade can damage players if you hear them and a Molotov can Stop your enemy from entering the site.
Flashbangs will blind your enemy if he will be able to see it, so you can take him out when he is blind.
A Decoy grenade will probably do nothing, but sometimes if can help you to push because the enemy will probably move his mouse (he could think of a Flashbang instead)

If you want to lean Smoke spots, you can take a look at the Steam Workshop, there are a lot of Maps that will show you the right Spots on where to stand, when to throw and where they land.

Edit: If you want to have a quick look at exact spots for Smokes etc. visit:
https://sothatwemaybefree.com
Select the Map you want to play and klick on the Grenade you're interested in.
Thanks to unknown2me for this Url.

6: Team and Tactics

To be able to win, you need a Team and you need to communicate friendly, the Game doesn't make fun if your annoyed by toxic players that do what they want.
You can find Players in a Forum, on Reddit and in Steam Groups, maybe your Friends on Steam are playing CSGO aswell!
But you can't win without Tactics! If everyone is running alone onto a spot, you can't achieve anything.
I suggest you here to watch some pro Games, how do they move? What do they check? What are they doing with their Grenades?
Normal CT Setup on most of the Maps is 2 Players on A, 1 Player Takes mid and 2 Players are going to protect B. You should not Face enemies alone, if you Hear something, tell your mates, smoke the entrance to your site or Nade the enemies directly. Your Job is it to PROTECT THE BOMBSITE.
Other than that, you should never tell your mates to move all onto one Bombsite! Why? Because the enemy could outmove you. If you didn't saw or don't have the Bomb as a CT you shouldn't overreact.

7: Maps

Every Map has its own routes, every map has a different spot you should get the name of.
You can't tell your mates: There is a enemy! That wont help anyone. A Information is helpful, Enemy @ Bombsite A behind xy with 60hp or something like that. Your Mates can prepare and wont get surprised by a Knifekill. You should know the Standard spots to watch if you're on CT side and you should know normal spots to aim for on T side.
Here is a Guide for the Calls on the most maps:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?l=german&id=157442340
8: Sound

You should have a Gaming Headset if you really play for the higher Ranks. You need to hear movement if you want to win! This can help to make rounds easier.
If you hear a lot of Footsteps on B, you can Smoke the entrance and some of your Mates could rotate so that the Chance is higher to win the Round.
But as a T you could hear Steps of your Enemy, you could locate them at an area.
Press Shift if you want to move quietly, as a T you could walk right in front of Bombsite B and the enemy probably can't react quickly enough to protect them.

9: Fun Community Modes!

If you're bored of Competitive and stuff like that you can go to Community server, there is a lot of stuff you can do!
Surfing and Bhopping, not only fun but also helps you to move better! It will take you some minutes to learn the basics but it's fun and you won't regret it!
1vs1 Server: Something that can help you at Aiming and is fun if you have no time for Matchmaking.

If you think something is missing, post below!
I hope i could help some of you guys!

Read the first reply please. I wrote it. Not everyone is on LZ, not everyone is on Reddit. So posting it here or there would just make it more public in my eyes. More people can see it and more people can learn from it.

I wrote the post 100% and took MY time to finish it. It might not be the best Guide for CS:GO but i think some can learn from it.

Only because you write something does mean you have to post it only on one page? Check the thread on Reddit again.
